Green screen, for editing
Every editor knows how to drop out a green background. Pick this when the clip is going into a timeline and you want to put your own scene behind it.
Free creative tool
Drop in a video or a photo and get it back with the background replaced — green screen for editing, white for product shots, any colour you like. Photos can also come back fully transparent.
Your video or photo is processed on this computer, inside your browser. It is never sent to us, so we cannot see it, keep it, or use it for anything else.
Original
MP4, WebM, MOV, JPG, PNG or WebP. Video up to 30 seconds.
Result
The first run downloads the matting model, which takes a moment. After that it stays cached and later files start straight away.
01 · What you get
Which background you pick depends on what happens to the file next.

Marketplaces expect a clean white background on the main product image. This gives you one without a lightbox or a studio.
A PNG with no background at all, ready to sit on any layout. Photos only — video files cannot carry transparency, which is exactly why green screen exists.
02 · Use cases
All of these are jobs that normally need either a studio or an editor.
A good piece of footage shot in someone's bedroom becomes usable once the room is gone and your own scene is behind it.
Shots taken on a desk or a warehouse floor turn into clean catalogue images without a reshoot.
The same talking-head take can sit against several backgrounds, which gives you several ads to test from one shoot.
03 · How to use
No account, nothing to install, and your file never leaves your device.
A video up to 30 seconds, or a photo.
Green screen, white, transparent for photos, or a colour of your own.
The first run takes a moment while the model loads. Then save the result.
04 · FAQ
About quality, limits and what happens to your file.
No. It is opened and processed by your own browser on this computer. Nothing is sent to us at any point, which is also why it keeps working if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
Common video formats have no way to store transparency, and the browser's video encoder does not offer it either. Green screen is the standard way around this — every editor can drop out a green background in one step.
Every frame is matted on your own machine. Thirty seconds at 15 fps is around 450 frames, which already takes a few minutes. Longer clips would mean leaving the tab open a long while, so it is better to trim to the part you actually need.
The model works best on a person against a background that is reasonably different from them. Even lighting and a bit of separation between the subject and what is behind them help a lot. Very fine detail like loose hair is where any automatic tool struggles.

It is trained on people, so it is strongest on anyone on camera. Products held in shot usually come out well too. A complicated object on a busy background is where it is least reliable.
If you run TikTok Shop ads
Swapping backgrounds turns one shoot into several creatives to test. What the ads dashboard will not tell you is which of them is actually pulling its weight, or which one quietly stopped working last week. Tec-Pulse watches your GMV Max creatives and tells you which to keep running and which to replace.
